Schroeder’s Marking Its Anniversary
Schroeder’s Gifts has come a long way in just under three decades.
From a humble beginning pitching home-grown potatoes and vegetables, Scroeder’s has grown into one of the true shopping destinations of the northwoods, drawing clientele from across the region for its mix of clothing, accouterments and housewares.
And in a nod to its past, it still offers farm market specialties along with wine, cheeses and more.
We would like the whole town to celebrate with us, Judy Schroeder said. We have many wonderful vendors who donated merchandise that we are using as gifts for each of the 28 days that we celebrate.
Customers who stop in and sign up are eligible for the daily drawings featuring clothing, home decor and jewelry.
We encourage everyone to stop in and visit us, especially if they haven’t been in the store in for a while. We have an amazing staff of women who would love to help you with clothing, jewelry, home decor, candles, kitchen gadgets, wine and gourmet food.
This weekend, the store will cap the anniversary celebration with a cake and more specials.
The original Schroeder’s was started in 1965 as a farm market, carving it from a former gas station. The store originally focused on potatoes and produce, gradually becoming Schroeder’s Gifts, the store now celebrating its 28th anniversary.
We continue to evolve and change as the years go by, Schroeder said. We would really like to thank the people of Antigo who have supported us over all of these years. It’s not easy for independent stores, especially in small towns. Thank you for shopping locally.
