WEDC Grant Launches Langlade County Women in Business Program

The Langlade County Economic Development Corporation (LCEDC) has been awarded funding through the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) to launch the Langlade County Women in Business Program, a new initiative designed to support and empower women entrepreneurs throughout Langlade County.

The program will provide business education, networking opportunities, one-on-one technical assistance, and a business pitch competition to be held during a women-owned business trade show aimed at helping women start, grow, and strengthen their businesses. Three winning businesses will share $10,000 in total prize funding, with awards presented to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishers.

The initiative will be delivered in partnership with the Wisconsin Small Business Development Center at UW-Stevens Point, Greater White Lake Area Rural Entrepreneurial Venture (REV) Team, and local community partners committed to advancing entrepreneurship and economic growth in the region. While the program is geared to women-owned businesses, it is open to everyone.

“Women-owned businesses are up and coming in our local economy,” said Melissa Kieper, Executive Director of LCEDC. “This program will provide resources, connections, and opportunities to help women entrepreneurs succeed while strengthening the business community as a whole throughout Langlade County.”

Programming will begin in July and continue through the fall, culminating in the Women in Business Trade Show and Pitch Contest on November 7, 2026, in White Lake.

An informational session will be held on July 13, 2026, beginning at 5:30 pm at the REV Business Incubator in downtown White Lake, where community members can learn more about the program.
