Representative Felzkowski To Receive Library Award at Antigo Public Library
Representative Mary Felzkowski will be receiving the Wisconsin Library Association’s Champion Award at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 26 at the Antigo Public Library, 617 Clermont St. in Antigo, WI.
The Wisconsin Library Association advocates for library workers and supporters to promote library services for the people of Wisconsin. This is the third time Felzkowski has received this award. Thanks to Felzkowski’s efforts, Wisconsin Public Library Systems have been able to invest $1.5 million additional state aid dollars in delivering enhanced services in the areas of technology, workforce development and lifelong learning to residents in northern Wisconsin.
Because of these additional state aid dollars, communities in Northern Wisconsin now have public library access to Gale Courses, more than 360 professional, online programs taught by college instructors.
Felzkowski also took the lead in passing the Public Library Data and Technology Training Bill that opened technology grants to small and rural libraries for the first time.
“We want to recognize Representative Felzkowski for her support of libraries, and we are very excited to be able to present this award to her at the Antigo Public Library,” said Dominic Frandrup, director at the Antigo Public Library.
