Dixie Lunch to Mark 70 Years Here Next Week

‘One of downtown Antigo’s most durable businesses, the Dixie Lunch is marking its 70th year in business next week.

Gary “Gus” Ourada and his sister, Sue, are manning the restaurant and Fifth Avenue Lounge just a heartbeat away, maintaining a tradition established by their parents, Ed and Georgian Ourada, seven decades ago.

They explained that during the coming week they will be offering special prices on an assortment of daily specials and gifts and prizes . Gus and Sue noted that one of the prizes is a dozen kolaches, right from the Dixie kitchen, just as they have been for 70 years.

Gus and Sue Stressed that they are anxious to seek regular friends and some who may have moved from the area.

“Of course we always want to make new friends,”Gus said.
