CoVantage Has Taken Over Elcho Site

CoVantage Credit Union has finalized the purchase of Northwoods National Bank in Elcho, a branch of The Baraboo National Bank, and the new sign is being installed today. The official purchase and transfer date was Friday, with the details announced at the credit union’s annual meeting held last week.

We are excited for our newest office in Elcho, President Brian Prunty said at the meeting. adding that the new location will make banking more convenient for existing CoVantage members living in that community.

Punty said the deal required jumping through several regulatory hoops and we are grateful for the efforts of Congressman Sean Duffy and his staff for assisting us in getting final approval from the FDIC.

With the sale, CoVantage acquired the building and the deposit accounts of the bank. The loan accounts remain with The Baraboo National Bank.

Prior to the purchase we already had nearly 2,000 members living in the Elcho area, Charlie Zanayed, executive vice president for CoVantage Credit Union, said. This opportunity allows us to provide more convenient access for these members, and a way to offer value to even more individuals and businesses in the Elcho area. We welcome the Elcho customers of Northwoods National Bank as members of CoVantage Credit Union and look forward to getting to know them, growing in the Elcho community, and providing the area with local service.
