Antigo has Two New Floral Shops just in Time for Big Day
Antigo supported two local florists for decades.
Now, it has the opportunity to do it again.
Just in time for Valentine’s Day, Antigo Floral, 721 Superior St., and Flowers From the Heart on Fifth, 817 Fifth Ave., have opened their doors.
Antigo Floral, located a couple doors north of Country Store on Superior Street, is operated by the mother-daughter duo of Angela and Abigail Fleischman and brings custom and unique designs in a warm, inviting environment.
No stranger to retail, Angela Fleischman previously managed Natural Living natural food store while her daughter was a floral designer at Hickey’s, which closed due to retirement at the end of 2019.
Together, they bring a mix of artistic and business sense to their new venture.
“We’re excited to be here,” Angela Fleischman said. “The support Antigo has given us is overwhelming. It’s very nice.”
A few hiccups have kept the doors closed until today, but the Fleischmans promise a warm and inviting atmosphere with a wide mix of gift ideas and floral arrangements for every occasion. Delivery is available within a 30-mile radius.
“We are a general, full service florist shop,” Abigail Fleischman added.
Antigo Floral is open Mondays through Fridays, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
A couple blocks south and west is Flowers from the Heart on Fifth, an offshoot of a store which has found widespread popularity in Crandon.
Bruce Walentowski, owner of ‘Flowers From the Heart’ in Crandon, 33 years and counting, chose to have Josh Jameson, employee of Walentowski for several years, run the new location here.
“With hopes of revitalization for downtown Antigo,” Jameson said “They are starting to become a part of the community, in turn, supporting local businesses, art, and the community is their goal”.
Employees include local florists Barb Payant and Jeanne Kakes, as well as eight other local individuals.
Flowers From the Heart on Fifth has delivery services available for all of Langlade County, as well as tuxedo rental services. Specials are also planned.
Hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
They both received a warm welcome from Jean Hubatch, Jim Frisch and the staff at Frisch Greenhouses, which is now open only on a seasonal basis.
“We wish both businesses much success and encourage you to see them for your floral needs,” the Frisch family said. “Remember Frisch Greenhouses for your planting needs.”
