Getting Online: Building Your Web Presence Plus Workshop (Webinar/Workshop)

This is a three-part applied training program that is a hands-on opportunity to build your own Wix website under the guidance of a marketing professional. As part of this program, participants will be able to access 1×1 instructional and student support as described below. The training includes an introduction to Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and social media, as well as a guided tour of how to set up and configure a website using the open-source platform Wix, assisting participants to install a theme, add and edit pages, and add and configure widgets and plugins. It will also allow participants to ask questions and get one-on-one help building out their websites.

The first part will introduce participants to website basics, including an introduction to website design, search engine optimization and social media. That part, together with the next part, will start the creation of a Wix account; choose a template; and learn how to use the editor to build pages; add text, images, and links; and use Wix apps to set up special functionality like a blog, contact form, photo gallery, etc. This part also will discuss tips for registering a domain name. The final part will allow participants the opportunity to ask questions and get further one-on-one help building out their websites, and will include instruction on installing Google analytics, taking advantage of Wix SEO features, and publishing their site. All training and support is virtual and/or by phone.

Sessions are on May 13th, 20th, and 27th, from 4pm-6pm.
