From Wisconsin to the World: Foundations of Global Operations (Webinar)



Program Objectives: To provide individuals with a roadmap of the international trade ecosystem, enhancing awareness of the physical, financial, and regulatory mechanics required to transition an organization from a reactive “shipper” to a strategic “global operator.” Participants in this program have the option to schedule a 1×1 follow-on session with the instructor to enable the participant to identify the next steps to advance global operations.

Lunch Break – 11:30 a.m. – Noon

Afternoon Session: Noon – 3:00 p.m.

  • Standardizing Trade Documentation and Recordkeeping
  • Safeguarding Your Brand, Finance, and IP in the Global Environment

Additional instruction and support:

Participants may access an individual session with the program instructor to identify international trade potential or expansion as well as outline next steps to develop international trade opportunities. Participants also will have access to international trade materials and online program materials.

Target Participants:

This workshop is designed specifically for small business owners who are new to international trade or looking to expand their operations into global markets. It is ideal for those seeking practical knowledge and guidance on exporting, importing, and navigating the complexities of doing business internationally.

Expected Learning outcomes:

  • Gain familiarity with state and federal international trade resources and tools
  • Conduct international market research and competitive trade analysis
  • Identify how goods are classified for movement in international trade
  • Gain familiarity with global supply chain management and related compliance considerations
  • Understand the primary actions to move products into the U.S. (import) and out of the U.S. (export)
  • Gain awareness of global trade finance and payment methods
