Tom Gallenberg Again Earns Best of Show For Furniture
Tom Gallenberg of Gallenberg Studio in White Lake is a 21st Annual New England Fine Furnishings Show – Best of Show Award recipient, as announced by KL Communications and Rockler Woodworking and Hardware.
The focus of this year’s awards program was new product debuts. KL Communications wanted to celebrate the new work that exhibitors were introducing to their collections.
“The focus of the awards program on new product debuts is our way of supporting the growth and development of our exhibitors and their creative process,” show owner Karla Little said. “We want to encourage them to keep innovating, exploring new materials, trying new techniques and honing their skills.”
The judges, Philip C. Lowe, owner and director of the Furniture Institute of Massachusetts, and Rachel Arroyo, editor of Home Remodeling South Coast, Cape & Islands, South Shore, reviewed this year’s talented exhibitors, their worked and the booth layouts to select finalists in seven categories.
Gallenberg received the award for New Product Debut – Traditional Furniture. The judges felt his Green & Green Barstool offered “a nice selection of wood and presentation of Green & Green details.”
They specifically referenced the nicely pierced splat and well-executed carving on the lower part of the legs.
This was Gallenberg’s fifth Best of Show Award at the Fine Furnishings Shows in Wisconsin and Rhode Island.
