Gilberts Make Switch to Sentry

The store known well to the Antigo and Langlade County area as Butch’s SuperValu was shifted to become Gilbert’s Sentry this week.

The signs went up Thursday, a new advertising campaign was launched, and the store will undergo subtle changes in the coming months.

Things will stay much the same, Tammy Gilbert, who has operated the store with her husband, Butch for the past 27 years explained. The business has been in the Gilbert family for just over 50 years.

On Monday, the name formally changed from Butch’s to Gilbert’s Sentry, she explained.

SuperValu is affiliated with Sentry, which makes the transition much easier for the Gilberts. Advertising flyers will be included with the Monday edition of the newspaper.

The first and most noticeable changes are the large signs, one at 10th Avenue and South Superior Street and another on the front of the store.

There is no doubt that this is a Sentry, Gilbert said, noting the bright new signs.

Tammy and Butch welcome the new connection with Sentry, the changes and updates it will be bringing to their business. That will include a presence on Facebook.

This will be very good for our customers, Gilbert said, and it already has pumped enthusiasm for the staff.

This was a very good change for all of us, Gilbert said.
